Marotta Shares Insights on Serie A Title Race and Inter’s Management

Inter Milan’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta recently shared his thoughts on the Serie A title race and the club’s management in an extensive interview for the documentary “Inter’s Year”. Marotta discussed the competition for the Scudetto, his communication strategy with Antonio Conte, and praised current coach Simone Inzaghi.

Regarding the title race, Marotta stated, “We’re only halfway through the season, and the usual suspects are still in contention. There’s a small group at the top including Atalanta, Inter, and Napoli, with Milan and Juventus poised to join. However, I believe Atalanta is one of the favorites this year. They’re a model to follow, having shown they can succeed without spending excessively, as evidenced by their Europa League performance.”

When asked about his verbal exchanges with Conte, Marotta explained, “It’s not a rivalry. I always try to put pressure on our opponents. It’s a communication game, but there’s mutual respect between us.”

Marotta had high praise for current Inter coach Simone Inzaghi: “Inzaghi has proven to be a top professional and an intelligent person. He arrived at Inter humbly, without making grand proclamations. He’s grown as he’s achieved results, gaining confidence in his abilities. He’s a leader who knows how to instill a strong work ethic, passion, and sense of belonging. These qualities, supported by management, have created a synergy that has taken us far. Our Sporting Director Ausilio interacts most frequently with Inzaghi, but as we operate as a team, there’s daily communication where everyone contributes their expertise.”
