10. Chris Wood – £15m to Nottingham Forest, 2023
Chris Wood joined Newcastle from relegation rivals Burnley in 2022. The New Zealand striker helped keep the Magpies in the Premier League but moved on just 12 months later, signing for Nottingham Forest initially on loan before a £15 million permanent transfer. Wood has since become Forest’s all-time leading Premier League goalscorer.
9. Yohan Cabaye – £20m to PSG, 2014
French midfielder Yohan Cabaye spent two and a half successful years at St James’ Park after arriving from Lille in 2011. He scored 18 goals for Newcastle before securing a £20 million move to Paris Saint-Germain in January 2014.
